Debt Counseling
There are no fees for a Franklin United counseling or coaching session. It is a chance for you to receive free, advice from an experienced, professional credit counselor.
For your initial counseling session, it helps to have your monthly creditor statements and other documents handy, as well as a copy of your credit report. If you don't have one, you can download a free one at www.annualcreditreport.com.
Your counselor will assess your household income and expenses, determine places for you to save, and help develop a customized action plan for achieving your financial goals. The initial counseling session usually lasts 35 to 60 minutes and can be done over the phone or in person.
If you qualify, your counselor will also discuss a customized debt management program. This program consolidates your debt payments into convenient deposits to us. Franklin United pays your creditors on your behalf and works with them to stop collection calls, lower interest, bring your accounts current and waive late and over limit fees.
